Mug Sloth

For the mug project, I chose the sloth as my animal due to its interesting characteristics. Sloths are renowned for their slow movements and lazy behavior, so I wanted to understand their proportions in order to capture their essence. I used a pencil to draw the fur around the eyes and long fur, as well as the arms and claws that help them hang from trees. Additionally, I wanted to highlight the sloth's often happy and lost expression. For the design, I experimented with lines, varying between irregular, fine, and minimalist. Ultimately, I found the illustration on the far left to be the most interesting and visually appealing, as the lines add more volume to the character while demonstrating the fur's texture. This illustration was made in Illustrator with the pen tool.
